@Proko Support I keep getting errors when trying to use the models are they still functional?
Leil Yaghmaei
They are working for me!

It's currently in the works! Filming and editing an entire course takes time, but we should have some more info soon!

Thank you for the update! it was more to ask if this was still in the plans at least - which it seems it is! Great news!

Hi All, Asking as I would rather save up and wait to buy the new upcoming perspective course that is meant to be released by Marshall Vandruff. Does anyone know if this is still due to come out or has it been scrapped? I apologise if this has already been covered but have been hearing about this on the Draftsmen podcast, but have not seen anything on the website. Kind regards, Kishan

I think, in this case, that it's okay to make the gesture not that flowy if the pose itself is not that flowy. To quote Stan himself (on drawing fists) "Don't think that everything has to be dynamic. Some things should feel blocky and heavy. A fist shouldn't feel like Jell-O." I think the best approach would be to draw them as straights or C-curves.

Understood yeah that does make sense think I've gotten into the habit of trying to exaggerate everything to flow. Thanks for the response!

Hi, I was hoping someone could give an insight onto how they draw the gesture for a model who might be posing in a rigid manner. I cannot quite see how I would create flow in this as the legs are very straight and you can see the model is tensing at the time so how can we work flow into this?

Hey Kishan, These are some great reference to work from. The biggest issue I see is that you are not tilting the torso and pelvis properly. Remember the torso tilts back and the pelvis tilts down. I did a quick diagram to show you what I mean, I hope it helps :)

@Steve Lenze Hi Steve, Thank you so much for pointing that out, it does put things into perspective that she wasn't stood completely upright. I will look out for it in the next set - also I love the workup you did on your profile from gesture to mannequin to detailed render!

Hi All, hope you are all well! Have been told to try some more extreme poses with the robo bean, I know I have not connected the forms. That was going to be the next step once I have fixed drawing the initial boxes. As for self critique some of the boxes seem to be floating a bit far from each other, also haven't made the effort to twist them when needed. Any and all feedback is much appreciated!

Hey All, Hoping to ask for some feedback on these Robo bean drawings, I know a few of them are a bit to far apart will work on that, any other critique is much appreciate!

Hi All, Putting in my first post here, wanted to ask for critique on the bean assignment I have done 16 of them after practicing quite a few beforehand. Would appreciate any feedback on what I could improve. Many thanks in advance! Apologies for the small thumbnails will make sure they're appropriate in the next one.

Hi @kishan01 , really nice studies! I think the beans look great. I can tell that you have been practicing quite a few beforehand. They show the motion clearly and give us a feeling of form and threedimensionality. I attached some practice tips that really helped me when I took the course. Hopefully they could be useful to you too :) - In #14 and #16, I think the gesture could have been stronger. You might benefit from doing a few beans where your REALLY push the gesture, just to stretch you boundries. Stan and Marshall talks about this in the Figure Drawing Critiques – The Bean (at 03:00). Watching the critique videos is great since they provide you with clues on how to improve. -In #12 it looks like the bean is leaning away from us more than the torso in the reference. If you have the two balls overlap less and have the centerline disappear at the bottom ball (to show that we're not seeing the bottom of it), the bean would read more as the pose in the reference. It would be great to see your gesture quicksketches as well! Hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!

Please post your source so I can try with a higher resolution.

Hey Ki - If these are your "very first" beans, you're doing an awesome job. In your drawings, there is a tendency to put a fold or extra twist where there is none. Other than that, great work. Just keep it up. I can't tell you the number of beans I've drawn. The foreshortening of your model images makes this exercise extra hard, but it also makes the exercise better. My only advice is: 1) do the drawing; 2) take a serious look at what you drew, comparing it to the model -- I have large Derwent calipers that I can use to see what's really going on; 3) repeat the exercise over and over again.
