i really enjoyed this assignment! I am so impressed by the work that other people in this class. Inspiring! I chose Glen Keane. One drawing (the girl) I did digitally. The other two are paper.

I forgot I did this one as well

This was a struggle. I have not good control over my lines. I chose to do a studie of glen keane. I started and i could not get my lines to look like i wanted. The first pic is my first try and I think it feels more like just a sketch than a line study and i also got sidetracked by trying to make the drawing to look correct and good. So I felt discouraged and gave up. I tried to draw the jeff wats skull while watching prokos demo and after some more attempts i finally made some more studies of Glen Keane i was happy with. I trying to understand why different lines is used but i does not always get it. It also hard because glen keane has very confident flowy lines which is hard to recreate if you don't have the same confidence. Also its tricky to make the lines consistent within the drawing.

These look amazing!

after I finished I saw some others had used a darker pencil for their heavier lines. I’ll remember that for next time!
Martha Muniz
Solid work! Though using a darker pencil can help emphasize the difference in weight, I think you already created a nice range in your linework. The Light & Shadow rhino has great variety and conveys the lighting really clearly. With the Hierarchy version, I definitely see the outside outline and the facial features as standing out, though you can try out incorporating more of the middle line weight into the drawing. Using it for the jaw and ear, for example, can help make a more natural transition between the most important, heavy lines and the lightest, least important areas.

The hand almost sent me into a spiral, but overall this was fun. Any critiques are welcome and I’m looking forward to practicing more!

Both assignments were challenging but the boot assignment was particularly difficult. My sketchpad is quite small, so I may get a larger one and try again. I did not finish the second boot but will try again soon. Thank you in advance for any critiques!

I'm genuinely envious of the curves you found in the snail!

These look good so far. Especially the boot!
