First Attempt got a lot to work IMO

This is another study based on art from the game Limbus Company. I focused mostly on the head and face to start with.

Quite a captivating reference you chose, love the motion effects used throughout the composition. Focusing on the head/face area you chose, it also makes great use of line weight according to the importance of hierarchy, which helps create readability and focus even when the piece is very dynamic and complex. I think you can continue to emphasize this, as you already started by drawing the major sections. Going into the details with a thin line, such as for the hair strands or fabric folds, is great practice to continue creating variation in a drawing.

I feel weird about just uploading the file so here is the link to the Alex Ahad piece I was studying: https://bsky.app/profile/oh8.bsky.social/post/3ksd6opiwp22g

Good start! Try sketching snakes from different angles and poses -- that can really help you get a good grasp on the basic shapes that make up the animal, and later help you create your own poses. Have fun exploring! :)

Congratulations on completing your first project :) You did a great job. My tips would be to push back the third darkest midtone so that the second darkest is the the main value, and lighten up the shadow a bit (most shadows will not be void of light). I love how you grouped the edge of the pear and the cast shadow, that's fabulous!
