I draw since I was a small kid and it almost became my profession. I am an industrial engineer now but I will never stop creating.

Loved the course! I attached my final piece (a little late for Halloween :D). I went for a seeds and vines theme. I am normally more of a lineart person. Therefore shapecarving was a very interesting alternative and I really like the result. I also liked all the tips with textures and different brushes. Glad about any kind of feedback.

I used the church in my hometown Ingolstadt to create a setting and then play with different lights and atmosphere. We have a clear autumn day, we have night, we have fog and we have Godzilla. Happy Godzilla day, by the way. Today is his 70th birthday :). Kind regards!

Great video! Really like to learn more about light. But that poor magician had to stand for such a long time on that mountain to get all these nice shots 🙃

I pushed further the leader, the striker, the outsider, the controller and the tank. :) lineup coming soon. The topic is soil and seeds.

Here is my ideation I did in PS. I ended up with two characters I want to develop. Vincent Vine who is in fact a wooden frame with vines growing on it and wearing a farmers overall and a bulky dude who‘s name is „Sooow“ because he catches water with a bucket over him. By pulling the rope the bucket waters his whole body with more seeds in it. He also is pulling a plow so he can rip the seeds out of himself and put it into the fresh soil. He also is growing by watering himself. I was using the theme „seeds“ for harvestman so the heads are mostly different kinds of seeds.

Double Split complementary: The reference is from one of my favourite video games: Destiny 2. I love the art. It was fun to draw this from beginning to end. Maybe I shouldn‘t have taken a painting with so many details as reference because I saw myself switching between what I was supposed to do regarding the assignment and just copying the painting. The details only made me look at the reference and I had to remind myself to pick the colors myself and to deduct them from my palet and from the lighting. Anyway, I feel like I made a big step forward: here is a video of how I painted it: https://x.com/kassjans/status/1840100762048774567?s=46&t=4F3U_v-Q_DW4k4fz9Pqmtg

this is the split complementary Palet. I am almost happier with my pure complementary palet earlier. My value control was better I think. Still a fun exercise! I think I did better on the reflected light. Same reference as before.

Here is the complementary palet. First picture is the original from a game called Destiny 2 Looking forward to do the split complementary!

Woah, I love the vibrancy and warmth of this! The only thing I would recommend is further developing the transition from light to shadow, as right now the division appears quite harsh. By just transitioning the light area a bit more towards gradual darkness before reaching the terminator, it can help communicate the round form of the sphere. I've attached the example from Marco's demo:
