Great lecture. I especially found the “design your career” section the most applicable to me and where I want to go.
Man, I just started out but holy hell these are difficult....regular practice everyday I guess
Hi Everyone, would love some feedback on my gesture drawings. I tried to follow along with the 2 minute sketch examples. I'm using photoshop so I'd really appreciate tips on how to setup my UI for this kind of assignment. As for the gestures themselves, the proportions look off, is this something that improves as I learn about anatomy ?
Yeah! your proportions will improve whenever you have a good understanding of anatomy. BUT if you're brand new to figure drawing, I don't remember when it was said but I think it was in the Draftsmen podcast Marshall said something about if you're just starting out, Don't worry about proportions at all for the first like, 300-400 figures. Otherwise it looks good! I'm mainly a digital artist but I've been following the course in a sketchbook. I'm not sure if it really makes any difference but it might be good just to test the waters on different mediums, I've been considering doing some of the lessons digitally as well.

Well, here's my rendition of the tracing. I had some difficulty keeping what a saw and what I thought I in the muscle shapes separate, but I'm very happy with the outcome.
I would love to know what brush was used in the video, I absolutely love it!
