Draw skelly assignment hey everyone here are my attempts at drawing skelly! at first i didn't know how to attach the head to the cervical but i think i figured it out by drawing the circle on top of the cervical (is that how you do it?) any feedback/critiques will be appreciated! also I'm very sorry for my camera quality, i really hope you guys can still see the mistakes i made despite the quality.

Ok. This is my 3rd time writing this critique because I though I came off as too preachy the last two times. Here we go. I'd highly recommend that you draw bigger. My reasoning is because 1. You're forced to show what you know. I remember really struggling with the form of the ribcage and pelvis. And by forcing myself to draw bigger, I had to show my ignorance of the plane shifts. 2. Your line weight means less. Your lines seem fuzzy in comparison to your writing, so I know it's not the camera quality. By making a larger picture, you force yourself to think more about where to place each line. 3. (a personal thing) You waste less space! Unless you plan to keep your drawings as stand alone images, I like to fit as much on each page. Filling each page also has the added benefit of making each drawing less significant (which decreases the pressure to succeed). As to critiques, I'd use more straight lines in you're drawings. Bones are supposed to feel rigid and immovable, and circles don't really give off that impression. It also (along with drawing bigger) pushes you to show what you know, so you can see what you need to practice. I did re-did the assignment here, and I tried to make Skele completely with straight lines (you don't have to do this, although it's a good exercise). You'll notice that in my final drawing, the ribcage is still made up of relatively straight lines, especially on the outer right side as well as the Thoracic arch. I think you're gesture and proportion are really good, just watch out for the space between the ribcage and pelvis. I hope I've helped you, and ask if you need clarification on anything. - Dwight

Hey everyone here's my first anatomy tracing assignment (i can only do the first assignment cause I'm only at the free version of the course :c) I came here because i wanted to learn the anatomy before i tackle the shading part of the figure drawing course. can't really shade something if i don't know what I'm shading right? i have a question going into this assignment. and it's what's the point of this assignment? i did the anatomy tracing but i didn't learn any anatomy terms. i just copied what stan did without knowing any of the muscles, tendons, and bones! was that the point of the assignment is to just copy what stan is doing? I'm clearly missing the point here and if anyone can clear me of my confusions of this assignment i would greatly appreciate it! :)

When short of information resources try googling "back muscles". It's also free.

Well this is just an exercise, like a warm up, The real anatomy learning happens in the paid course.

Some eggs i did. i honestly can't tell if i did it right or wrong ;-; Some feedback/critique would be greatly appreciated!
Christopher Beaven
The biggest issue I see so far with your eggs is not the drawing but the materials. You're using paper with lots of texture, which is okay, but if you want to get smoother shading you're drawing will need to be much larger so the interstices of the paper does not distract from the shading. Or get some smoother paper for this shading exercise. Try that first, your shading make become more clear afterwards. Hope it helps!

Hey everyone! here are a couple of my measurement assignments. they're just gesture lines for now because i was too overwhelmed to add any details ;-; If you have any feedback/critique, i will greatly appreciate it!

When I took the picture of my drawing, I got a lot of shadow. Sorry. Anyway, notice that I captured Channon's gesture and based the drawing on her robo-bean. That might help you "see" that her body is facing away from the camera. I hope this example helps.
John Harper
I'm going to try to draw these same poses and make some comments. Channon is only 7 heads high, and you've drawn her facing forward too much. Good try though. I'll post later on today (got to go to work).

Good stuff here. I think you lost some of the gesture in the drawing of the woman though (at the hip area), keep up the good work though
