Here's my attempt on the boots before the demo. I struggled quite a lot with the laces and simplifying things overall

Here's an attempt at doing the snail before the demo! Currently doing the boots now. Is my linework too light? I feel like I should have tried to put some more weight onto my lines

Great job!

Here's my pear after watching the pear demo! Any advice would be appreciated.

Trying to get back into the course after a while, I redid the first lesson! The hardest part of me was definitely seeing the darker shadows and getting the proportions right, so I'd appreciate any critique on how to do that better! If the photo's a bit hard to see, I can send another one

Looking good! I think you did a great job simplifying and distributing your values. However, controlling your pencil strokes more, especially in the darker values where gaps and direction changes are more noticeable, can help create more unity in the drawing. I think you show the use of direction well in the light areas, so continuing this into the dark even as you layer can bring it all together. Also, keeping your pencil more horizontal is way to cover more area without the individual lines appearing too separate. I hope this helps! :)

Been procrastinating this course for a lot of time now, need to catch up (this attempt was made before watching demo, and I really need to learn how to take photos of my drawings. Would appreciate tips on how to get proportions right and cleaner lines!)
@etoattic
I messed up on the shadows, had to use a stronger pencil than the one I used on the pear... also, if anyone had any tips on how to take better photos from your artwork, I'd appreciate it!
