@Erin Quick-Laughlin Very nice!!
I notice the gradients are not very soft, the drawing has sort of a "blocky" aspect - and I actually think it's pretty great, it describes the anatomy with a very structural, bulky presence. Personally, I think like it more as it is than if it had softer gradations. But I think it's a bit of a stylistic choice, so whether you should work on it or leave it as it is depends on the kind of result you wanted to achieve.
Concerning value, I notice the range of values you worked with is simpler - I basically notice 5 different values. I like this restricted "palette"and I also like that it's a broad range, it goes from total light to total dark, and for this kind of study, I'd say these choices work well.
Finally, I wouldn't worry too much about composition, since it is not as relevant in this type of anatomy study, but, for the record, I don't notice any compositional issues to point out, so way to go.
Hope this helps!
Keep up the good work!
Self critique woman's eye: iris to large, too wide. Proportions in general need measuring to reduce "stretch"

4th day. I'm getting closer, I think. At some point early on in the drawing the grid confuses me. I have to stop paying attention and look at relationships between the parts. I also think my measuring is "off."
I haven't used the grid much yet - would it help to use it only for your main points of distance like heights and width (without much line if any) then erase it?

I'm guessing I should have started with a simpler form and contrast but I'd like feedback on reducing the wormy look here. Rewatching the video, I can see i started with strands instead of shadows.
The guy in the top right of the last one looks like Patrick Stewart to me. Is it? :)

Nice sketches, @Erin Quick-Laughlin! On the first page, the one on the top right seems just a bit too flattened, but all others look good to me. Anything specific you need help with?
First new drawing since joining beta. Feedback requested on where I should focus my active learning next.
great work I love the way how it's done,
I think the bottom form of the lip is looking a little squeezed
the lower region of the chin can show little more
the right side of the lip can be more dark light and nodes can be shown more
