Asked for help
This is my first digital submission and wow! Talk about learning a new skillset!! It took me way longer than I expected just to get used to the brushes.
The first image is the importance method and the second is the light direction with the light source placed at the left of the rhino.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

haha I'm going from digital to traditional and it's just as difficult!! your lines are very well organized to highlight the silhouette of the rhino in the first one, the second is also very intentional with the placements where shadow would be so i think you did great!

I don't think I did the VR girl as the assignment wanted. I thought I was sketching and being loose, but after I watched the demo on her, I decided to try again on the Penguin. Likewise, I definitely enjoyed the penguin more.
P.S. I forgot to do the cross-contour lines on another layer.
I like the cross contour lines on the penguin! They do a great job of showing the volume of the body. Getting that profile right was something I struggled with.

Hey folks. This one took multiple attempts for each drawing for some reason. Feedback would be great as always. Thanks in advance!

Hello! Nice work with these. You did a great job using hard edges to show the shifts in value. One thing I would point out to keep mindful of is the effect of the placement of the light values and the core shadow value.
Typically when a darkest value is adjacent to a light value, it represents a sharper edge, which is why you use half tones to show a gradual shift or roundness. Even though we are only using straight lines for this exercise, we can still show a gradual plane shift by using the darker half tone to separate the light halftone from the darkest value.
It will require some invention to design good shapes for this exercise, so thinking about the pear as if it was built by rectangular planes is a helpful.
