Did some blob perspective drawings, due to bad lighting it might be a bit hard to see. Also did some warm-up lines on the same page as the book drawings.

Asked for help
Hey all, I've been struggling with this pose for a while now and I fear I'm in a place where I cannot see right from wrong anymore. So I could use a fresh pair of eyes. Any critiques are more than welcome!
Do you use a lot of 3d modeling software for your work (like Maya, blender etc.) and do you think VR is going be (or maybe already is) a factor in the art world?
2m gesture practice, feedback appreciated
I appreciate your posts along with the original photos, it helps see how you are doing, which is excellent by the way. You are putting a lot of work into this, it is inspirational. Thanks for taking the time to contribute some helpful posts.

Really nice! You're doing gesture drawings at a high level. I'm trying to think of ways to help you further. Maybe watching Mike Mattesi's force drawing series could give you new insights https://www.proko.com/lesson/improving-line-quality-and-rhythm-force-series-part-1/discussions
Hope this helps :)
Some more 30s gesture practice of last week or so.

Really good!
- 3rd image, bottom right corner: Instead of drawing two lines for the left side of her torso, I would draw one of them on the right. That way the energy of the pose is being pushed from side to side. I've recently rediscovered my love for this after studying "Bridgman's Life Drawing" for a personal project. He has a chapter in there called RYTHM, and it looks like it's all about meeting a curve with an opposing curve, to push the energy through the pose. Mike Mattesi is big on this concept too, which is why I linked his video in the reply to your other post.
Hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!
30s gestures using 5 or less lines. Feedback always welcome!

Hi @Bas de Vries, great job! I think you completed the exercise succesfully!
- I attached a paintover with suggestions on where you could have connected even more (and in the bottom right is a general gesture note). How much you connect or divide is up to you, you don't HAVE to go overboard with it, but I wanted to make you aware of the possibilites.
Hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!
Hey hey, tried to keep these around 30s, though I have to be honest that a few of them are closer to 1m... oh well. Feedback always appreciated.

Hi @Bas de Vries, I think these are very successful! Great gesture and beautiful to look at!
I'll see if there's anything I can do to help you further:
- I would try to connect things more with longer lines. You seem to be breaking up what could have been long gesture lines, into shorter strokes, with gaps inbetween. Whenever I get the change I try to connect things, because it forces me to analyze how the big picture works. Breaking up the lines is not necessarily wrong (it could make a cool style!) but it might hurt your understanding. You might unintentionally break up lines, because you're unsure of how the big picture works. Maybe you're just copying certain parts of the contour
My favorite exercise for practicing finding the big picture is to do 30s drawings where I limit myself to 5 (or fewer) lines (CSI) + head. It´s a challange, but using only 5 lines will force you to find the core gesture. You can look at my paintover of another students work for inspiration. Note that I´m not drawing stick figures, but the flow passing through the forms
- As a rule of thumb try to ignore stuff that doesn't do much for the gesture. Try to think big to small or important to detail: When you have time over to add another line, try to seek the line that would add the most to the pose.
I hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!
First of all, looks awesome, got a cool biology notebook vibe! I would say that the proportions are a bit off here and there. For instance, the left side of the skull is more narrow than the right side, the nose holes (don't know how you'd call those) are too big, also over all the skull is a bit too long I think. Maybe next time before diving into details add some more construction lines, like a center line etc. And check: where sits the nose bottom of the nose in correlation with the height of the cheekbones, how do the corners of the eyes line up with the width of the jaw etc.
