I had a lot of free time at work this week so I finally got around to doing this assignment. However that means I was working with whatever paper I could find lol. I actually enjoyed this tho. I definitely should have put more stuff in the 2nd picture but all in all I think it was a productive session

I really like these. The woodshop scene is really cool, and it's impressive you put the poster in perspective. I did notice that the cabinet is clipping the wall a bit in the first image, so just be mindful of that. Overall, great job!

I attempted some from reference and Imagination. This was a fun one 👍 I do think I struggle with being loose when I was using reference. Definitely a practice I'll have to come back to

So my first attempt was as most people are saying, pretty exhausting lol. I tried it again with my husky, really trying to focus on the horizontal and plum lines, and I had a good time. Definitely an interesting approach. I'm looking forward to trying this exercise again in the coming year

Took a lot longer between this and the line section than I had planned, but it's good to post in these classes again! I attempted level 2 with a couple of them but it was tougher than j expected lol

I think with the importance piece I may have been a little too subtle with the bolder lines. But otherwise any feedback is appreciated!

After looking at some of the other submissions in this assignment I was a little bummed I didn't attempt something a bit more creative with the sketch from imagination. It was a good assignment tho! I was surprised how decent the frog from imagination came out, as someone who hasn't drawn from imagination in years.

Level 2 assignment here. These ones were way more fun to do than the intricate laces on the boots lol

So I've done the level 1 assignment. I'm in the process of attempting the 2nd level as well but thought I'd post these here now. I felt the general shape of the boots was a fun challenge, but I was absolutely convinced it should've been a lvl 2 reference once I got to those laces lol. After watching the lvl 1 demo I feel I added too much detail in these but it was a good exercise nonetheless

I just bought the pack of 2mm mechanical pencils you linked and I am very surprised how much I like them. I also really liked that DK you had in the video and decided to draw him up as well

Here's my pre-demo attempts at the assignment. Simplifying the hair and trying to capture the subtle value changes in there was really throwing me through a loop. I'm looking forward to this course!

These look great. I like your smooth shading. Here’s one concept that may take your drawing to the next level.
Think of the 3d planes to decide the design of the values. (I did not include bounce light here. That can be added too)
Each value is a different plane.
Overall, this looks great. Keep at it!
