Good day everyone these are my attempts doing balance drawings although I realized I didn’t make them mannequins😕. I will do so next time. how did I? Do I understand balance drawings and if not, how much more practice is needed before moving to the next topic? Thanks for the critiques🎖🧨🎖

Hi, how are you doing? These are more of my mannequin practice. I really love these ones although I feel the pose could be more exaggerated. Sry for the late post, I had school work and art class work to do and I got these done in my spare time. THANKS for all your critiques🥇🧨🥇

Hi @Jahsee Mullings, nice drawings! Great job with the structure! These are also more gestural than your previous attempts :) - I think you're right; there is still room to push the gesture. Maybe all that's needed is to change mindset, to prioritize gesture over structure. If that's hard, I think it could help to do some mannequins where you REALLY push the gesture. Maybe starting with an exaggerated gesture drawing, that you then draw 3D forms on top of. As an example, I did a drawing based on a reference that you've used previously. To be honest, I don't know if I like the drawing this exaggerated; the torso feels broken to me. But overexaggerating was the point of the exercise and with my example I want to encourage you to dare to push the gesture, even beyond what's realistic, for practice purposes. It would be interesting to see you retry the pose in your 3rd image. What would happen if you pushed the c-curve of the body? Like I mentioned last time, 'to make the drawings more gestural' was the same advice I got when I first submitted my mannequins for critique. One thing that helped me then, was to allow myself to bend the forms to emphasize the gesture. Today I prefer to keep the forms unbent for solidity, but bending the forms can be liberating. I attached two of my drawings. One before I received my critique and one after. Note how daring to push the gesture and bending the forms made the second one more fluid. Hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!

Hi everyone I hope your all doing well, I've been practicing mannequinizing the body and I'd like to get some critique on some of the drawings I've done. Any critique is welcome

For these you really need to work on proportion and finding the gesture
Jahsee Mullings
great job, I love how you did it simple and how the gesture was found. Your progress seems good so far although I’d need to see your practice before this, Blow Them Away🥳🎉🧨🥇🧨

Thank you :)

Hi everyone hope you’re having a good day. Here are my first practices for mannequinization. I felt like I did good but I’d like good critiques Merci d’avance, on se verra en ligne🥇🧨🥇

Hi @Jahsee Mullings, I think you did a good job with these! Keep on practicing! - They are a bit stiff. This happened to me too when I submitted my mannequins for critique the first time. Dare to make them more gestural! It might help to first start with a gesture quicksketch then add forms on top. - To make the figures feel more grounded it might help to add a cast shadow or some perspective floor lines Hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!

My Robo Bean drawing done over 2 weeks. how have I done?🥺🤗 merci!!
Jesper Axelsson
I think you're doing great! They feel solid and gestural and the motion looks accurate! - I would keep an extra eye on proportion. In the 2nd image for example, top middle robo bean, I think the hip box got a little tall. In image 3, top middle robo bean, the hip box got a little short. You can use the green robo bean in the lesson video as a benchmark for proportion (just remember that it's an avarage and can vary slightly between individuals) - In some of these the distance between the boxes is either too short or too long (4rth image, top row, robo bean to the right; too short . 5th image, top right corner robo bean; too long) I struggled with getting this right too. One thing that helped me was to imagine a connection between the boxes (the spine), just like the green robo bean in the lesson video has. Hope this helps :)

Still working on the robo bean. I’m not at the point yet where I feel 100% confident in these but I can tell I’m getting there

Yes you are because these are look fine🍾❤️❤️‍🔥

I did this for my art class. In this drawing I tried to represent the dark area using cross hatching. I know this was not done as best as possible but how can I improve on shading?

My practice with better learning the landmarks. this is Mallory#6. I feel like I didn't get the arms muscles right & the leg muscles. I felt like I got the pose correct & and a bit of the back muscles, although it could've been bigger. After your critique I will do this over again to see how I apply it. Merci pour tous tes aides!!
