So I took that scene from FMA where the guy combines his dog and his daughter... and I substituted moistcritikal. I thought I'd be funny to add an actual picture of them incase people didn't know what he looked like. If someone could give me critiques that would be sweet.
I learned about the contest today ;;
posting this first stage of work, the Scribble to fight off my fears preventing the participation.
Any feedback is highly appreciated! (Especially on the composition it feels cramped at the top and too spacious on the bottom. And on the words placement)
As Three of my favorite teachers are hosting this I choose Marshall, especially after seeing Marsh Wren bird today. Sorry for my baby student scribble lines.
I did 3 storyboards so far. The first ones are about Cristiano Ronaldo turning into a cheeta in a football match; the last one (my favourite) is Khaby Lame, an Italian-Senegalese influencer turning into an owl and doing his "gesture" after seeing two airplanes (Yes, that's a reference to Invincible and the meme! I had to do it!). I'm not sure about the last shot, i have 3 options and i'd like to hear your feedbacks :)
Since Ethan specifically said influencer instead of celebrities, I would stick with that. A lot of celebrities are on social media, so I think someone like the Rock who is very active on social would be fine.
Please keep in mind the thumbnail in this lesson is just a poorly photoshopped example of an Animorph. Although photo bashing is allowed, you'll probably have a higher chance of winning if you actually draw, paint, or sculpt.
Aside from that, I think the 3 on the left all look very much like the bunny and then a sudden jump to human.
This is hilarious! And I still have the Animorph books in my room. However, how do we know which influencers we could pick? Isn't there a consent issue with using another person's image without permission type thing?
You're creating your own work of art, which is protected by the first amendment (in the US) and you're not using it commercially. You're safe choosing anyone for this challenge.
It gets more risky once you start selling and mass-producing the image on commercial goods and licensing out the image that includes someone's likeness.
Ok, but for real, what a cool throwback challenge! The original artist for the Animorph covers has a store on Etsy with all of these too so people can look it his stuff to get inspired for the challenge heh : https://www.etsy.com/shop/AnimorphsArtStore?ref=profile_header
