Doodling Dragons with Art-Wod (LIVESTREAM)

Mark as Completed

Draw Along

Using the reference photos that I provide, you can doodle your own dragons during the livestream. This way you are watching, listening, and having fun during the stream. After the stream I'll critique and comment on some of the doodles posted here.

How to make a perfect dragon without any reference sir
@galxiusprime123xd
Hey quick question is it possible to have a download to an image of the dragon on the thumbnail. I’m trying to study creature and dragon Anatomy, and the pose of that dragon is what I’m looking for would that be alright.

I just started drawing this week, and while I've done 3d modeling and sculpting really well, I feel completely hopeless with a pencil. Thanks for the live stream.

You are far from hopeless with pencil...In fact you are pretty close. What I would point out is you need to use more prominent contour lines...I made this 30 min sketches as study for production design...you can see what I mean there. Feng Zhu said when you start studying animals, start with large mammals without fur and repties (easiest), than some insects/arthropods, marine animals, skulls, skeletons, than animals with hair, feathers and fur which is a bit harder... Keep it up! You are pretty good actually.

You did such a great job too! I really love how you shade the subjects and add all those details with the pencil!

I'm not sure to call this thing a "dragon" but for sure it was a blast painting it. I've got carried away by the randomness of the design that was coming out, despite the references, and I must say that I'm pretty satisfied with the result. And all thanks of you guys! This livestream was really great and extremely useful!
Eli Abramovitch
Wow this is a really original (unique) dragon, would be cool to see the rest of it's body! Your shading skills are superb!

Not best work but it really got these rusty gears in my mind turning. I really had a good time dragons are my favorite fantasy creature especially when I was younger its good to be back. Even though I didn't know there was going to be a critique after this I still wanted to upload them anyways so I'm ready yall GIVE ME HELLFIRE.

These are dreadful, but I didn't know there was a critique at the end so I speed drew some heads in the last 5 minutes of the stream

This was the first time I’ve draw dragons and the first time I’ve drawn any of the reference animals to. It was really interesting to follow along your process and see how you put the different parts of the references together to create a mythical creature like this! Thank you! I had a lot of fun making my own dragon doodles!

Hey! Thanks for the stream. I've been studying early mammals and thought about putting something together with bat and therapsid references. It's a first design sketch so still lacking a revision on anatomy, some gesture and personality.

I joined at the end so I didn’t get to do much but I loved the stream I learnt a lot! Thank you

Well lol, not sure I did it as intended... and it's night here so, sorry for the quality ^^"

I post this here, I pushed a bit the doodle the next day and used it as an excuse to try a few new brushes.
@kinokotutu
I just signed up while joining the stream and thought it would be fun to challenge myself since i don’t really draw anything but girls. I spend the least amount of time on the dragon and really don’t like the result of it, but i‘m proud that i drew and participated at all 😊 Maybe i’ll draw another one tomorrow with a little more design ideas in mind. Thank you for motivating me.

Rushed a dragon this last half hour, tried to mix the references.
