oh but we still lost at point that professional artist can't compete with AI at business level which is true, a person running business would care less about artwork or artist rather than profit and money. So, what to do as a growing artist, become a businessman who uses AI to profit his business so that you yourself can work as visual artist.

I always said when someone asked why you draw, " I am not good at speaking that's why I want to visually speak to people." but when same persons asked me why do you want to draw hyperrealism when camera can click better photo than anything you will make in 2 weeks, I literally felt bad and couldn't find answer until now, that helped a lot to be honest, as even cameras are not able to click photos like one another, how did I forgot I had to tell people my story through my language in my way....... wooooo 9:33 was really worth lifetime lesson.

The writer & artist bit just made me think why can't creatives collaborate more together? Surely there are many artists (alike myself) who would absolutely love to illustrate a book or album cover, for lesser pay or even just free because collaborating with other creatives simply feels amazing on it's own. I get it that styles don't always match preferences, but surely finding someone close enough or versatile enough would still be a more enriching experience than just generating a picture. Also what happened to the initial promise of AI pictures that nobody may legally use or claim copyright over the generated images because they were trained with copyrighted material randomly found online. That was a pretty remarkable part in AI generated stuff in 2020 and now it's just forgotten about? Additionally my thoughts on AI in the art world is that it will most likely degenerate the overall skill in art. Less people will desire to learn to draw because you can just use AI for good enough pictures. Most people don't start to draw because they want to master the craft, they do it because they want to draw -a thing-, which is now achievable without. Wanting to master something usually comes after a while because you realize how fun the craft is, but less people will now reach that potential realization. Also AI will eventually, unavoidably start to teach itself with other AI generated pictures which leads to it becoming samey. Perhaps a lot of art will end up in museums behind paywalls again and the craft will only be available to rich people.

Hi Stan, Marshall, the rest of Proko, and the Proko community. Just finished watching Draftsmen S4 E01. Loved it. Fascinating subject this AI business. Is it possible to invite either Kirsten Zirngibl or Karla Ortiz or both of them in a future episode about AI? Their personal input would be invaluable. When the conversation brought up AI and detectives, it reminded me of Psycho-Pass, an Anime that's based on a future Japan that's being governed by AI, literally. Very interesting. In case you check it out, kindly, leave kids out of it as it has gore in it. But generally, it has interesting concepts regarding AI, laws, and the society. And when Stan said he preferred to talk to a human rather than a machine...it reminded me of a NY Times article I read a while back. It took me some time to find it but I managed. For the curious ones, here is the link: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/24/business/akihiko-kondo-fictional-character-relationships.html Thank You Stan for all the love you are showing to the art community in the world. STAY STRONG AND CLEAR!

Marshall, If you listen to audible, I would recommend a book called "A Fabulous Creation" by David Hepworth. It charts the history of the LP Album, and features a section where the design of the Album cover is discussed. A great listen.

When we start to grasp the ramifications of this it becomes absolutely vital that we address the economic angle. Is there a better alternative than Universal Basic Income? We need to take financial survival out of the equation.

This is a really good question. I wish I knew the answer.. I asked OpenAI what it thinks: "There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the best solution will vary depending on the specific ramifications of AI taking human jobs in a given context. Possible solutions include retraining programs for workers who lose their jobs to AI, government support for those affected by job loss, and measures to ensure that AI is used responsibly to complement rather than replace human workers. There are other options, such as a job guarantee program, in which the government guarantees a job to everyone who wants one."
