Super cool to find out Marshall has a former student doing fine art! It was interesting to hear about how you felt about the medium of oils from the start, @Joseph Todorovitch , and the benefits of starting alla prima. In h.s. I took an evening community college (not Fullerton) course in oil painting, and it was so disappointing! I desperately wanted to take Don Lagerberg’s portraiture course after heads and hands with him - he was one of the finalists for the presidential portraits at the time - but I didn’t think the course I had taken would count as a prerequisite, and couldn’t figure out a way to make it work - a decision I deeply regret!
