For this project, you will add midtones to your drawing:

1. Draw the transition from dark to light across the larger forms.
   • Darkest midtones should be near the line of termination.
   • Gradually lighten the value as it approaches the center light.
2. Add details on the lit side of the line of termination.
   • Midtones should range between a number 3 and a number 1 value.
   • No midtone should be as dark as the brightest part of a shadow.
3. Look for patterns and organize anatomical details using midtone values.
   • Every shift in midtone value indicates a change in topography.
   • Think in terms of volume, with lighter areas turning towards the light source and darker areas turning away.
