For this project, you will add midtones to your drawing:
Draw the transition from dark to light across the larger forms.
Darkest midtones should be near the line of termination.
Gradually lighten the value as it approaches the center light.
Add details on the lit side of the line of termination.
Midtones should range between a number 3 and a number 1 value.
No midtone should be as dark as the brightest part of a shadow.
Look for patterns and organize anatomical details using midtone values.
Every shift in midtone value indicates a change in topography.
Think in terms of volume, with lighter areas turning towards the light source and darker areas turning away.
