I know it's over time, but I was on vacation. I would like to participate in your competitions. Let it be out of the vote. Oil on canvas..
Hello everyone, I see I missed the deadline :| I was sure the challenge was up till the end of June... Well, nonetheless, the piece is done, so I might as well post it here. Oil pastels on paper.
Hi everyone, I know I am late but this is my first ever post for any challenge and I needed that. I am a very shy person, this is a huge step for me toward showing what I am learning. And every feedback is welcome 😸
Thank you
Fantastic job! Maybe that big smudge on the wall next to her head is getting too much attention (ignoire this comment if it was the intention) In general looks awesome! Great composition, fantastic color, light and texures!
I'm a little bit late, but decided to post it anyway. I've learned a lot about colours during this challenge. Thanks to Marco Bucci and Proko team!
I would really appreciate any feedback!
This looks really good! I like all the detail in it.
In terms of feedback I don't really have much to say because overall it's pretty good and I suspect some of the decisions are stylistic choices. I feel like some of the edges of some brushstrokes could be harder especially in the highlighted detailed knit on his face. This piece also has a grainy texture to it that I like.
The only thing that strikes me as potentially off is the way the nose is shaded. It looks like the shadow is falling on it in the same direction light is falling on the rest of him. It could be that the glasses are casting this shadow but I think you might be better at defining that and having the rest of his nose following the rendering of light and shadow as the rest of his body.
Anyway I hope this is useful and good luck!
At the beginning of the year, I retired from my esports league to reconnect with my drawing hobby. Since then, I've been meaning to do a tribute piece for my friends in "Bee Squadron:" Maize, Fatboy, Crazy-D, Fox, & Hawkeye.
I was right up against the deadline last night. So, I didn't compose a full message to accompany the submission. But, I want to thank @Luca Funckner for giving feedback early on in the compositional phase.
Applying his feedback, I was able to dedicate more visual area to the action scene. I was also able to fix some issues I had arranging objects according to the rule of thirds.
My first challenge submission. The work was based off of this photo of apartments in Venice, Italy. Thanks!
Nice work on the details! Personally, I think you would have benefited by having some darker shadows to up the contrast a bit but looks pretty good as is. Good luck!
Submission 3 of 3
Had a lot of fun doing these and learn some stuff.. like deadlines don't like me.. yet. Good luck everyone!!
My submission for the June 2022 Challenge! Worked hard to preserve a sketchy and painterly feel with the brushstrokes while still maintaining a realistic representation of the colours and light.
Very nicely done. I like the way you brought depth by changing the saturation of the second soldier
I'm kinda in love with your sharp edges and colour choices <3 Love all the little triangles in the car one!
Hello! this is my entry for the June challenge made on Procreate on the iPad.
Hope you enjoy!
Super cute, just how it feels walking my dogs. The subtle colors in the shadows are very satisfying 😁
Hey!
my entry for the challenge. I did these sketches on my phone, cheers!
I had time to finish a second entry! This is from Little Women as well:
"The garden had to be put in order, and and each sister had a quarter of the little plot to do what she liked with. Hannah used to say, "I'd know which each of them gardings belonged to, ef I see 'em in Chiny"..."(Little Women, Chapter 10) and so it goes on to describe each the gardens and what each girl planted. I stayed true to each one, but my focus on this, apart from Hannah and the sunlight, was Jo's sunflowers. If you look really closely, you may even see Aunt Cockletop and the chicks!
I took a picture of this with my phone rather than scanning it, and my lighting is rather poor, as it's after dark. Hopefully all the details are still visible.
Thanks again for this challenge!
