These are my second attempt, now following along with the video. I feel like this pass of the hand is a lot more dynamic than the previous (on the project assignment). I like the penguin more too!

That ring thing in the first drawing fought back my every attempt to draw it accurately, and looking at this I see what you mean about dynamic movements. All three look like they were captured mid gesture, not drawn from a held pose if that makes sense.
@juriga
Had a lot of fun with these, I definitely would appreciate some feedback since I feel like I'm not sketching properly although maybe I'm overthinking it but I am happy with some of the results. I found the hand difficult for some reason but I think I was starting to understand the gesture part of the exercise by the end at least. The Ram and Skull were some of my last drawings just playing around with the same ideas the demo showed.
Toni Blackmore
Yep. I saved the hand until last thinking it was going to be the easiest!!! To me they’re all more than good, and the ram’s air of superiority is perfect, but what I really like is the expressions you’ve achieved on the penguins. First one looks benign and relaxed while the second could be posing on the red carpet:).
@penghuy
Oh man, I attempted to draw the hand before watching this video (the first picture, It was tough 😂). I am now watching the video, and drawing the last 3, it looks better, I am ok with them. [At this point, I think I made the right decision taking this course, I feel like not only that I learn how to draw but also the philosophy.] I think I now understand the reason why I could not get good like, that actually becouse i put too much force leading to slippery between the pencil and the screen. Am I right? I need to practise more on lining (it still shaky) especially the ellipse and circle (I cant make the right size and land precisely on the right point). I am looking to learn more on how to undersand the rythms and to get proposion right, I tent to make the objects to big that I dont have space everything.
Toni Blackmore
Absolutely agree with you about the course. First time for me that the difference between copying and drawing has been built into the course structure. Thanks for the insight. TBH, both your versions look very, very good. In the first course I ever did we were shown how to get everything in the drawing by mentally or physically dividing the source into four sections, and then doing the same with your own page/area.

Today I gave the boots a go, after watching the demo for the snail. Tried drawing more confident lines here compared to my snail, hopefully it worked. I did skip the laces because it was kind of a tangled mess and I felt like it would make the drawing too complicated.
Toni Blackmore
Like your approach to the laces!

Asked for help
Hello everyone, here is my attempt with the boots. I'm not sure if I'm the only one in this situation, but I felt really overwhelmed by the amount of information when I had to draw the laces, I really struggled to organize it all. If anyone has any advice, I'm all ears. :) And by the way i did it on Krita.
Toni Blackmore
Looks really good. Know what you mean about the laces. For two days now I’ve been trying to think of how to represent the volume without drawing it all.
