Did the assignment without watching demo's. Was very fun and gave me great insight on how to draw something relatively quick. Very open to feedback :)

Did both without watching the demo's. It was very fun. The portrait was definitively a lot harder. Feedback is very welcome.

The pear looks great! You're getting a good value range there. With the portrait, to me it looks like you are drawing icons of the features. Take the eye for example -- if you squint your eyes looking at the reference image, the whites of the eyes almost disappear and combine into one shadow shape that represents the eyes. We should define it a bit more in the drawing because grouping that eye as one shape is a bit too simplistic for this exercise, but instead of being the lightest light -- like it would be in full light -- the whites of the eyes would be closer to the dark value next to it. Hope that helps!
