Very nice simplification!
If I can put words into Stan's mouth (after having watched all the critiques), he might point out that the lines in this exercise where supposed to be straights, not curves, though I see how tempting it is to go for curves when you're drawing an apple ;)
Also, I see how the lines of your shading are indicating the form of the apple in your mid tone at the top, but you might want to practice shading in an even tone, so that no lines are discernible, and it's all just flat gray.
And one last thing - try not to outline your highlights. The dark line between the highlight and lightest light spoils the effect. If outlining helps you get the shapes correct, then maybe erase it afterwards?
But all in all, great work :) Keep it up!
hi Temoki, I like the fact that your lines look clean and directionally disciplined, especially at the top of the apple which shows volume. The apple picture itself has too much surrounding light scatter resulting in not so much distinguishing shades on the apple.
