I tried the camel this time after trying the snail and getting the same problem. How can I work on proportions?

So this is kind of my second attempt. The first time I noticed I was taking way too long with the angles and proportions, and I remembered the assignment had a speed element so I started over. This second attempt still took a while but was much faster. I thought it wasn't half bad until I checked it by putting the image behind it. How precious do I need to be about replicating the image? Should I be worried about getting it "right" if the assignment was supposed to be about "CSI?"

I re-did my pear after watching this video.

I'm following along as best I can with a drawing tablet. This was harder than I thought!
