I cannot wait for the demonstration video. But I wanted to share my picture anyway even though there is so many things wrong with both of them and I might have a bold spot from pulling my hair out to try the shoe laces on the boots.😉😂 I thought the boots were going to be easier than the slug, but man was I wrong.

My attempt at the pear before the demo. Done with procreate since I'm traveling atm. Initial observations: transitions are bad. The dark values are not as dark as they should compared to the mid-light-values. Overall shapes are ok-ish. Cast shadow feels a bit too dark w/ messed up transitions (that blurry tip is so hard! hahaha). Will try to make it better after the demo.

day 2, more ink sketches this time (from photo reference) with a bit of under-drawing, also trying out some marker (with mixed results, shadows are too warm).

Here is my submission for the first assignment. I tried to do it digitally. It was pretty fun. Going to attempt it again. This attempt was as much about learning to use my tools as about learning what was being taught. I found it difficult to use all 5 values from the reference photo. I may use another photo for my next attempt.
