So , what are you making sure you have here , or what are you thinking that's keeping you on track for animation as opposed to a static drawing?

Thank you for taking the time to review the sculptures. Was fun to make , ill sculpt again! Ill try to get the length on my torso better.
Andrew Joseph Keith

Is it ok if I try to learn every feature like really good from different directions and then draw them all together or should I just draw the whole face but with not very good features?
Parting Mist
I would say whole face not good features is way better. the effect of seeing a face is made more by the whole then by its parts.

Sebi from youtube asked : is something wrong if i learn each feature separately? And practice them separately from different directions.(eyes, nose etc) And then draw them all together. I know to make a face but not features.

AKASH YADAV from youtube askes: approaching a single object with well organized 5 values is relatively easy, but how does one approach a complex scene where all the various objects will have different local values+the 5 values? Restatement of question: how does one approach a complex scene where all the various objects will have different local values+the 5 values?

I had it looking a bit better at one point but couldn't get it back lol, well, gotta start somewhere :) I used my hands and a little metal knob, knob wasnt working too well so it ended up being almost only hands.

This looks pretty cute with the featured curve. Love it!

This looks good to me! I'd love to see more angles. I suspect a little more instruction and practice will make a big difference. It'll be fun to look back at this effort. Thanks for sharing!

You often mention the mental and spiritual aspects of drawing so you might be interested in this tidbit. To me Meditation is an attitude. When a thing pops in the mind you do not put in an effort to suppress it and you do not put in an effort to make it play out further. I think that practice gives you a benefit which is somewhat like sleep. Question: What is meditation to you and how does it relate to drawing?

When it comes to size , you can compare one size to another and get a proportion- as such you dont have to match the size of what you draw but can instead match the size relationship. This is generally accepted to be true of size but do you find the same to be true of value, chroma, hue, angle, roundness, ect... ?

When it comes to Chavant Clay , should i get medium, soft, or hard. I have waterbased clay right now but im willing to get the plastilline. Any advantages / disadvantages to the different hardnesses
Andrew Joseph Keith
I like a firmer clay that holds the details a little better so I usually go for the medium clay. I even have mixed a little of hard clay with the medium to make it a little firmer. But if your working on a larger scale then a softer clay sculpts faster. The medium clay is pretty hard out of the box but it softens with heat so I warm it up before a project.
