Hello from Kurdistan, Marco. When I try and paint directly in color my values are usually off. But when I paint in greyscale first, I have a much better control over values. Is there a way to train myself to see values better while painting in color? Thank you!

Hello from Australia! Marco, how did you settle on the 10 min for the 10 min painting series? Why not 5, why not 15 min? Just curious

Hi Marco my name is Zeynep im a highschool student from Turkey. If its not too personal i wanted to ask you did you ever exprienced depression? If you did how did you cope with it as an artist? I want to draw and study but i just cant... Any advice?
@lanalorellion
Berriblu from youtube I have a hard time putting my ideas on paper. When I draw things look weird and I make small corrections and eventually it stops being what I was thinking of and more of whatever looks okay. For example if I'm drawing a face, I have an idea of what I want it to look like but it ends up not looking like how I want it just because I'm constantly trying to make it look right. This makes me feel like I lack consistency when drawing the same character, especially from different angles.

Hi Marco. When I was working on my painting. at first my sketch and painting was not really like the reference. then I make like 4 revision to get the like of reference. I was having this feeling that I'm not like a true artist or I'm cheating because I have to make many revision to make it look good. that my finish art is not my skill level.  When I look at my sketch in paper it's bad then I see my art in digital it's good. like I'm having doubt on my self

AKASH YADAV from youtube askes: approaching a single object with well organized 5 values is relatively easy, but how does one approach a complex scene where all the various objects will have different local values+the 5 values? Restatement of question: how does one approach a complex scene where all the various objects will have different local values+the 5 values?

Hi Mr Bucci! I was wondering:do I need to study fine art if I am aiming towards visual character development as a career? What fundamentals would I need to study in order to be prepared? Thank you for any suggestions!!
@emilianofigueroa
Hi Marco! I’m Emiliano. I used to create this highly rendered and dramatic artworks, but after a while I began loving this painterly, expressive, study-like, almost unfinished look in other artists artworks, including yours. So then, I began spending tons of hours rendering an artwork and then, going back, and “destroy it”, adding splashes and blending shapes all around. I find this to be a really inefficient and time consuming process. Do you have any input on how to be more “direct” in painting? Like, how do you learn to paint the final brushstroke instead of building millions of layers and then going backwards to add expression and abstraction?

Hello Marco thanks a lot for doing these streams. I love your videos a lot, they've helped me understand a lot of concepts for painting. I wanted to ask you how to get more comfortable with painting. For context I got into an art program 2 years ago in an institute, where I've mostly survived through the excellent teaching and consistent practice. Unlike my other peers, I didn't study/do art consistently when growing up. As a result I tend to rely on the fundamentals a lot rather than intuition, especially for draftsmanship. But as a result, I find painting very hard to understand and consistently be comfortable and enjoy. Do you have any recommendations on how I can be more comfortable with enjoying traditional painting so that I don't feel lost and accelerate my learning?

Hello Marco, need some help with colours in digital. With traditional, I only use 2 or 3 colours with watercolour, and 4 when using oils so navigating my way through value and colour isn't difficult. But with digital, i get lost really easily. Any suggestions to help me navigate my way around digital painting? Thanks!

Hello Marco! My art style is heavily influenced by comic with strong line art and color blocking. I also have a big interest with painting style like John Singer Sargent and N.C Wyeth. Do you have any experience with combine two different styles together? I have tried many times but it only left me unsatisfied.

Do you prefer using more saturated or desaturated color when it comes to realism, i’ve seen very realistic portraits in gray scale but also in very bright neons and just very saturated colors in general, so what do you prefer using?
