Asked for help
3 assignments in 1. The dinosaur fits into to atmosphere of the landscape I thought. First I wanted to make him more mechanical with bolts etc., but that’s still too difficult for me.
I love the digital drawings with added colours that some of you sent here.

Would it be a safe assumption that the direction of the minor axis of the brow to ear ellipse will be the same as the head tilt?

This was a bit tricky. I’m not so sure about that “X”, but it is a start. I thought about putting some shading to it, but I decided to leave it be. I might work with it in Procreate or Affinity.

My first attempt playing around with the melted pancakes idea in Procreate.

I am really enjoying this lesson. It inspired me to pull out George Bridgman’s book, The Human Machine. I drew a few of the drawings from the book. I drew a couple of Asaro heads in slightly different perspective views. The Asaro head can be found on Sketchfab. One of them, I somewhat joined the mechanical neck drawing from the Bridgman book. The head at the bottom right was drawn from the Bridgman book, combining the head to the neck mechanism drawings using a bit of imagination. Thinking of modern mechanical parts, I pulled up an image of a pneumatic machine part and played around with the idea of a pneumatic mechanical jaw. I have attached the picture that I referenced. I drew 4 images as the perspective was a bit off on the first two on the right side bottom. I imagine that I will be coming back to this lesson a lot. Thanks a lot for the inspiring lesson.

I got Affinity Photo and Designer last week mainly for the posterize feature as it is so much cheaper than Photoshop. Now, I am going to have to figure out if Affinity can do this? My profile picture was actually done playing around with the posterize feature on Affinity Photo.

The Zolly app is fantastic! I need to work on the perspective of basic shapes and this app is perfect for that. I have been drawing cubes using the app. Also, I made use of the 3D model airplane. Two very useful tools! I have attached 3 sheets of practice. On the page with the model plane, I utilized one of the early lessons by roughing out the plane at the bottom left corner.

Trying out the app - it’s really helpful! - my drawings are still really wonky - does anyone else get kind of a ‘magic eye’ thing happening with your boxes where they turn inside out while drawing? Started marking the ‘forward corner’ 🤔✨
I like the app. To me, it seems that it will be a great reference tool for basic shapes and the perspective of them, practicing daily. My drawings are also wonky, and hopefully with the repetition of daily practice, my drawings will improve. For improving line work, watch the Straight Line Discipline with Peter Han lesson. I would think applying some of his line exercises while drawing the basic shapes will give extra bang for the buck. I get the magic eye thing with drawn through boxes. This is covered on the Isometric Optical Illusions Assignment lesson. Cheers!

The brow ridge is a rounded tube shape like a cylinder. C curve wrapping lines would indicate the form of the brow ridge.
