Here is my submission, its the same one I submitted for help on the lesson notes but it was received very well on my Facebook maybe this is the start of my own style. I was planning on developing it more and if I have time when I get home I will I thought the deadline was a fair bit later. This is my biblically accurate mech design the human body is a vessel for the angel attached by wires from the eyes the angel can modify the human, I was going for existential dread and some kind of cyberbiblical dystopian world a battle between heaven and cybernetic body enhancements I suppose :). The angel can move the body around like a puppet so to speak and as such they can move in tandem or separately. Good luck to you all I've seen some amazing designs and I've learnt a valuable lesson in time keeping and that's to actually keep time no boring details but a lot as happened recently so I am gutted I didn't have as much time for this as I wanted but alas it was just for fun and perhaps to interact with some nice people here which so far has been pleasant.

I really love it, it looks like a nightmare (in the best way possible)! 🖤👏

Nice contrast, its kinda abstract.

a simple musing, I hope it gets some response
@meebutstronger
I love it such a nice little style to it too!
@alexro
OK, here are some quick and very quick sketches to get started
@meebutstronger
Loving your concept art it reminds me of someone i watched on youtube years ago shiroko or someone like that, I'll have to find them again

Before I actually start painting, here is my concept for a gel droid. The idea is that an amorphous gel with millions of carbon fiber nano bots in it can be programmed to make it's skeleton into any shape. The machine parts build air-tight floatation chambers around themselves to focus on movement, rather than holding itself upright. Tendrils connected to the surface of the gel maintain shape, and deliver air pressure for the floats, when needed. I'm still unsure about the shape, and may consider zooming out the composition to get a more unique profile. I was also considering just playing with opacity of layers in photoshop for the translucence effect, but now leaning towards straight up using opaque brush strokes throughout.

Love this idea, very whacky biomechy vibe
@birdieowenart
Just a weird idea for this, let me know what you guys think.
@meebutstronger
I think its amazing that you've implemented the prey mantis into your design very quirky little piece I love it!
@wubbly
Not sure if this is odd enough. Any advice is welcome ofcourse
@meebutstronger
Id love to see where it goes whether thats just some colour or shading but loving the dynamic pose, I do see what you mean though I dont know if it falls into the realm of odd yet still an ace concept though

Loving it! Pixar lamp got an upgrade!
@meebutstronger
Normally I wouldn't post anything so early on but I'm super excited about this design. This is just a rough expressionistic mock up but any feedback on composition pose or anything would be useful before I get to deep into the piece. I'm thinking the back "wing" might need some adjustment. Anyway thank you in advance if anyone interacts with this :)

Love the use of rings within rings concept. Maybe beef up the middle section to help visually support the weight of the top; feels like it may tip over if it moves to fast.

Gave it a try. Actually 2. Let me know which one looks more odd to you )
@meebutstronger
very cutesy design it's reminding me of some robot characters, the one on the left that is maybe it's giving me some pixar-esque vibes. Second one is like a toy Sid would make in toy story
@meebutstronger
what's the criteria for a final submission. Are you allowed to post more than one design or is it only one file per candidate. I'm really excited to have something to work towards and have already stormed up a couple of preliminaries.
Katey Jensma
Multiple submissions are welcome, though I would separate them into different posts so help with judging and community voting.
Morgan Thomas
I’m sure you are able to do multiple, but that is a good question.
