added comment inProko Challenge Favorite Book Cover - FINAL SUBMISSIONS HERE
Hello everyone. I recently finished Life of Pi by Yann Martel, and I knew that I had to use it for my inspiration. It's a really great and plenty famous too. I definitely recommend this book!
As you can tell, I don't really do digital, (probably because I don't have it. :I) but I worked really hard on this, and I included the colors I used. I would look cleaner as digital for sure, but I'm trying not to dwell on that fact.
P.S (stands for "Post Script" btw) This is my first time participating in a challenge and I loved it!
This is my book cover for the Favorite Book Cover challenge... it was very hard to decide on a single book but I went with The Call of Cthulhu from the many works of H.P. Lovecraft
I'm so excited about this challenge! I made a cover for the Book 'A Murder Most Unladylike' by Robin Stevens - I love children's book illustration and am personally not a big fan of the original covers, so this was very fun to do! I used a limited color palette - staying with cool greens and warm red/oranges as a contrast.
The line work is done traditionally with pencil - colored in digitally, with a traditional gouache texture.
the prompt was inspired by the Penguin Book Awards prompt - but I was not able to actually participate due to not living in the UK. I put a lot of work into this cover, so I'm very excited to be able to show it to people on here!
"Self Portrait in a Green Wig" oil on linen, 12x12 inches
When I was younger, my dad would famously say "First comes laughing, then comes crying." But now as an adult, sometimes those feelings come all at once. Without giving away too much - this portrait is about just that. Thank you for looking :-)
I had a lot of fun working with some new colors. Much love to Slew and the Proko team for putting on this challenge!
This is the first Proko Challenge I have tried! I went for a more muted color scheme, while still contrasting the warm facial tones with the cool background. The glasses provided ample opportunity to play with light. Also featured is my parrot.

Good luck everyone!
Hello, my name is Marta, I'm new in this comunity.
Here is my submission for the self-portrait challenge.
I decided to paint full lenght portrait in classicism inspiration. I made it in Corel Painter using brushes that imitates oil paint.
Doing self-portrait I couldn't miss my two beloved budgies :)
Maybe the reflexion of my inside...
