Tried to make some more seals, this time with a greater focus on the stretching and wrinkling.
@luiscubal
Tried again after this video. Based on the demos here, I focused less on the apex points and angles, and more on where to break the symmetries.

I think I could get general "flow" of the drawings, but the part of the bouncing lines not so much. Here's my attempt at some seals.
Martha Muniz
Love the flow in these! When it comes to the bouncing line of force inside the seals, you're on the right track, though I think it could benefit from pushing the seals more when the line moves towards a particular direction, as if the bouncing line itself were pushing up against the outline of the seal. That way, you can get more dynamic changes in shape that complement the flow you already have.

My attempt to draw the portrait. In general, I think it came out decent, though some measurements about the size of the body turned out to be off. In the face, the eyes turned out a bit too close and the ears a bit too big. The arm shaking a bit while trying to measure stuff with my pencil also made some measurements less reliable than I'd like.

This assignment took me a long time, especially the first animal (I started with the hippo -- that took me 8 pages of attempts). In the end, I was able to simplify several animals to their basic shapes. Second image is my first page of hippo attempts.

These are so cute! Great exploration with the hippo. Love it see it.

My attempt to study a drawing by Claire Wending. Getting the drawing right ended up taking most of the effort, and maybe I should have taken more time looking at the line styles (I focused mostly on value). For instance, looking at the original drawing, I noticed now that most of the lion lines tend to be thicker than the girl lines, which I missed in mine. Still think it came out decent.
@luiscubal
My attempt to combine depth/focus with a bit of importance, and more thought put in general in line weight.
@luiscubal
Made a second attempt to draw the light/shadow version. I think the tip of paying attention to contrast too, not just shade, helped.
@luiscubal
Line weight project, done in a computer with a mouse. I think in general the line importance one ended up looking better. In the shadow example, deciding when to use the intermediate weight was difficult, and I think I ended up underusing it as a result.
Melanie Scearce
Wow, this was done with a mouse? Incredible work.

These are my attempts to draw the Level 1 pictures. Hands are still pretty difficult, and for some reason the fingers came out looking unhygienic. VR Girl came out better than I expected. The pinguin didn't complete capture the original's "I'm better than you" look, but I still think it came out pretty good.
