It was fun following along. Feel like my lines are thick and dark, maybe?
I think, the problem is that the angle is too high that make you draw in like perspective, and of course the chaotic light sources
I think you did well with the reference you have! I think the issue it more the reference. it seems like there is two sources of lighting or its quite direct. It isn't giving you the balance of light and dark shapes. Check timecode 1:03 in the video.
