If you’re an Apple user there’s plenty of apps, I’ve no personal experience with them however or there is figurosity website which lots of people talk about https://figurosity.com/

Not an Apple user, but I'll check out Figurosity. Thanks! I'm still happy to hear more suggestions. I'm really hoping for something that will light up a simple, non-detailed figure so as not to be distracted by features, colors, clothing, etc. ETA: Figurosity is a fantastic resource for gesture drawing! I'm definitely keeping that and utilizing it for the future. For purposes of what I'm looking for in this thread, I need absolute control over the pose; Figurosity doesn't work for that, but I'll keep it in my pocket for future practice. Thanks again!

Hey, I’m ScotArt I’ve been starting and stopping art for about 10yrs and been trying to take it more serious and make meaningful improvements. Here is a few pieces I’ve done in the last couple months. I’m currently trying to learn proper figure drawing and it is kicking my ass tbh but i hope to be at least a little better at the end of the course

Asked for help
My first time doing gesture as I’ve always put off doing them as it always seem very intimidating. I tried not to over think or complicate it too much, I didn’t time myself but was no more than 2-5mins for each attempt. Any feedback is much appreciated

Hi! Sorry for the aside, but where did you get your references? Are these from the Proko model packs?

Good job on utilising CSI lines in some poses. Though, it is evident that you're focusing too much on contours at times, which can weaken the gesture. After practicing gesture some more, I think it would be good to study up on the bean and robobean to help you transition to more accurately proportioned and 3-dimensional torsos. I tend to find that this can really breathe life into a pose. Overall great sketches. Your line quality is also nice.

Try not to be distracted by the contours of the shapes. In some cases you have inverted the curve of the legs for this reason, as in the second photo of the first picture where the curve of the outstretched leg is upside down. For now, don't worry about drawing shapes and outlines, just focus on the gesture.  Only one line for each body part, you have to draw the movement, not the contours. :)
