added comment inDemo - Dynamic Shapes from Reference
Hi y'all, HELP PLEASE. Are these contour or gesture? I did add some line weight at the bottoms, where body meets ground. Not sure that's a good thing on a gesture drawing, but one of the guest speakers said to always let the ground win.

They seem very gestural. You created a pinch and a stretch which is something Proko stresses in his gesture drawing class. Nice job! It looks like you were also looking down the mass of his body to find the direction too judging by the construction lines which is also really useful for gesture. I like the straights and line weight on the bottom, I think it adds alot of weight.
A few criticisms - On the seal on the left it looks like his fin was drawn considering contour mostly though. You could make that shape much more gestural simplifying it with CSI and considering the pinch and stretch. His tail also ended up quite stiff, I see a flowing s curve for the gesture there.

Asked for help
I started studying the line weight but then I got the urge to try to finish the whole thing. That made it really hard to focus on studying line. But I really like doing these and I'm going to do a few more. I'll keep them simpler now though going forward.

I think I should've picked a bug. I'll probably redo this one but I was kind of happy with the results.

Very cute :D I like how you experimented with different styles ranging from very simplified to more realistic. I think it would be helpful in the future to include any sketching/construction lines you used to give more insight into the process and keep things more experimental and exploratory rather than clean and polished, for this assignment in particular. I think using construction lines can also give more dimension to the drawings, like the hind leg for the realistic cat or the muzzles for example, and will help you in creating a variety of different poses/angles.
