If I watch the lessons and practice for an hour everyday as recommended, approximately how long will it take to go through this course?
Haronnh Fernando Ávila vargas
It´s hard to say. The complete course consists of 364 lessons an you´re supossed to do 1 lesson each week. Theorically, it will take you around six years to finish the course and finishing it doesn´t means you learn everything. Anatomy takes a long time to study, but don´t worry, learning just some of anatomy can make a big difference in your drawings. Also, I recommmend investing some time practicing the figure drawings fundamentals before learning anatomy.

I did some 2-minute and 30-second gestures. I find that I have a hard time getting the proportions right. I'm hoping to get a critique on them so I can improve. I've attached some of the reference pictures I used. Thank you.

Don´t worry too much about the proportions, the brain learns them with time and practice. These is a good start, i see you´re finding the center line and simplifying the gesture of the limbs. You´re still focusing on the contour of the figure, so remeber that your focus is on the gesture, the flow and the movement.

Hi guys. I recently watched the first two videos of the gesture drawing fundamentals course s couple of times already. I did some 45 seconds and 2 minute poses. I used Quick sketch.com for the poses. The first two images are 45 seconds poses and the rest are 2 minute. Critique is welcome. :)

These look pretty good, but i think you´re still focusing more in the contour of the figures than the real gesture. Think that the gesture is the "directon" of the body parts, also the gesture could be found inside or in the contour of the figure.

Every time i come back to this course i feel pretty overwhelmed . Is there a time line you can recommend me to keep things less daunting.? How long i should be working on each section, how often i should practice. As if i was in school. I need direction otherwise i feel overwhelmed and give up. Thats how i am with everything in my life. Hence why i struggle to complete or get good with anything. Thanks for any advice .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFB7deiL-3s Max. 2 weeks per lesson. You need to feel comfortable but continue with the next lesson. I recommend you to try the Drawabox "course", this will teach you how to loose the fear to failure. It helped me

Hi, i´m also doing the Drawabox "course" (i´m at Lesson 5, animals) and I highly recommend to continue the lessons of the Drawabox page. Your first attempts are pretty good, and trsust me, after you finish the 250 box challenge (and a couple more lessons) you will feel more comfortable with the spatial rotation.

Thanks @Haronnh Fernando Ávila vargas - I didn't see this but I've finished the 250 box challenge now and have moved on to lesson 2! It's hard to decide how to balance which course to focus on (the figure drawing one here or Drawabox) - right now I'm sort of switching back and forth, and I'm not sure that's the best approach!
