From imagination assignment. These were even harder!

I struggled quite a bit with the assignment so thought I'd try this one after watching Stan's demo. The eyes caused me some trouble and ended up being way off when overlayed....too high. I'll do more of these for practice.
One thing it usually helps me is to keep double checking the measurements as I go along, and see, for example, the height between the bottom of the nose and the top of the head, and measure how in proportion to that where the eyes are. In your case they're about half way there, but in the reference it's a lot lower than that. That might give a clue that something is wrong, and then spend some time to evaluate what exactly is wrong.
For this, don't be afraid to fix mistakes, no matter the stage in which they appear!

This took me too long to complete, and the overlay was very eye opening. I definitely need a lot more practice.

My master drawing after Edgar Degas. The emphasis is on the form and limbs of the ballerina. My result wasn’t quite the same as I imagined it :)

Used charcoal pencil on this one, but found it hard to get the lighter lines to not be too dark. Will try drawing pencils next one.

Thought I’d give Level 2 a try. I’m still not loose enough with my sketches…I’ll keep working on it! I was going for a caricature of a pelican.
