This was so fun and intimidating! Even with choosing roughs and being able to see construction lines, I still had a rough go of it. Angles! I had such a hard time getting the shape of the ice block and the lips right. But this was really fun. I'm excited to do more of these with more learning under my belt.

Taking a shot at hierarchy of importance, before and then taking another pass after watching the demo. Really looking forward to playing with this more. Having some disjointed/aimless line weighting now and experimenting seems worth it to not have flat drawings forever!

I think I got sucked into the details again. And wow did I struggle with the VR girl. Haven't figured out how to manage proportions when putting multiple sketches on a page. Really enjoyed the penguin though. Maybe I only draw penguins now?

Having a hard time simplifying and still finding dimension. Also, that shell interior baffled me. But this was a good exercise in not spending too much time on the project.

Take 2, Pear 2, after watching the demo. Layering graphite to arrive at values is so obvious and yet... I had a harder time finding the discreet shapes with this pear, and again separating values or being left with hard outlines. But it's time to keep moving! Thanks to everyone who commented on Take 1 ☺️

I'm pleasantly surprised with how this looks...but I don't think I differentiated the values enough, and I need to simplify better? More? Also I still haven't figured out how to keep my hand off the graphite after it's on the page 😅. Maybe I'll try again after watching the demo/critiques. Open to thoughts

I like the way you put the 5 shades on your page in the top right. I'm a rookie as well with the same concern about graphite on the page. I hope someone comments on this.

Oh dear. This was a fun but sobering warm up. Eventually I just shifted into filling the page with ellipses because I clearly needed to work on the basic shape sans all the extra placement and pressure planning.

Been poking around Proko and other videos for a while now, mostly on iPad. Decided to borrow my partner's pencils and get a sketch pad, give it a "serious" go. I really enjoy the high H pencils...who knew you could put down so many lines without committing! I was surprised how much I enjoyed the 2B graphite stick. Looking forward to experimenting more.

I can have a bit of a heavy hand, so I love good HB or 2H for lines that are easy to erase without leaving too much graphite behind!
