Hi guys these are some of my updates , i want to improve more so i will continue to practice
Valerio Capriati
hi guys , these are my drawings for this assigment,i'm not even close to what i want to achive , but I am satisfied with myself. I tried in some poses to be as dynamic as possible using lines of action and using perspective. I would like to receive criticism and advice because I want to improve. I tried not to use reference at all and just used my imagination. in the meantime I will continue to do pose after pose until I am satisfied enough to move on to the next step of the course

here are some of my updates , i feel ready for the new chapter actually . I really want to draw muscles , i have been drawing skeleton and skulls for 12 daya straight ahahaha what do you think about this?
Linus Lehmann
I think you did a great job with the skeletons and I love your enthusiasm. Looking forward to seeing your muscle studies!

Hi everyone, these are my results of 7 days of training in drawing, I notice clear improvements every day I think I did something better, from the third day onwards the sketches are all fantasy, the last exercise concerns the drawing of patterned heads in a maximum of 2 minutes, what do you think? I think one of my biggest problems is the view from bottom to top of the skeleton, do you have any advice on this? I stopped to draw a bit before moving on to the muscles, I think that without a solid base I can't move forward.
Linus Lehmann
I think your doing very well. You said you are struggling with the view from bottom to top. How I would go about it: I would do a few quick studys of that angle where you are just focused on getting the most simplified volumes right. Do these long bendy lines for the spine and appendages and than put some extremely simplified volumes on top of it. Do a few of such studies until you get it right than you can go a bit more detailed again, and test your understanding by drawing that angle from imagination. Additionaly I think you should try to invent some poses for the skeleton from imagination, it might be hard (it certainly was for me) but dont worry to much about it you will improve your poses in the drawing from life/video section. " I think that without a solid base I can't move forward." I agree with that to some extend, its true that the chapters are kind of building on top of the previous chapter. However its also true that all of the chapter benefit each other. You shouldnt try to completely master one chapter before moving on. Spent some time on one chapter before moving (maybe one or two weeks, but it really depends on how much you practice and how your feelling about it) to the next chapter. But dont consider a chapter finished but revisit old chapters from time to time to keep improving them. Hope that helps. Looking forward to seeing your future studies:)

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this community, I would like to share this illustration of mine with me. This drawing represents fear, every time we feel relaxed, anxiety and our phobias make us fall into a large, infinite ocean, making us suffocate and swallow up by the fears themselves (sharks).

Here's my attempt. It doesn't feel done, but I feel like moving on for now. The gesture and face feel a bit off, as does the shading. I started out doing the blender stick smudging technique, but then watched the videos through and attempted the rest with the crosshatching technique Proko recommends. It was a great challenge, and I learned a lot! Thoughts and critiques welcome!

Hi. I think they are all positioned correctly and are very detailed. my criticism is towards the pose, I think you could have curved the body slightly making it more interesting, so it seems very static to me and despite the beauty of all the muscles and fantastic facial details, I think it could be improved significantly with little effort

Hi @Blake Pawlikowski i like your poses that you have choose, but try to give more dynamism to the poses, using the action lines, you must try to follow the flow of the line. My advice to you is to EXAGERATE the curves, the important thing is not that it is 100% anatomically correct but to express an energy. by the way they looks good keep it up :)

hi~ i am still in the process of completing my digital painting with the guidance of the online tutorial. But i added my current draft here as i am excited to participate along with the many wonderful posts put up here.

honestly, i really love this piece, might be not detailed, but it has a lot of expression and potential; the anatomy looks fine and i really like the style that you used for the Line art. Keep it up :)

this should be a snake-monkey + something on the head like a firefly It's my first time drawing monkeys or even animals in general, but I think this is my starting point and I'm sure I'll be able to do better, I fully understand how much I am a slave to reference. my goal is to improve at drawing without reference but above all to learn to draw creatures.

Haha! Didn't think of that XD. Nice! Great to see you attempting different poses! Nice rhythms! I'll do my best to help you further: - I think the drawings would benefit from some stronger structure. The body flows nicely, but it feels a little unclear how it's structured. Try to think of the character as built out of a distinct set of shapes, that communicates how it's built and is able to move. So for your character you might have head & body Just like in real life, the body bends in different movements, but its mass stays the same. Having a clear idea of the shapes, helps you manage this. As a rule of thumb I think it's a good idea to be aware of every part of the character as a specific shape. So when you draw the eyes for example, you design a specific shape, that you then squash and stretch into different expressions. Same for the other stuff; brows, antennas, beard etc. Like you're building a model. However, you don't necessarily have to outline every shape in your drawing. Maybe you find that the face gets too crowded if you draw the contour of the eye shape. Maybe it looks nicer if you just outline the top. Then feel free to do that. But keep the shape in mind. Thinking of the specific shapes, will also help you become a better designer, since the shapes aren't left to luck, but designed consiously. - " my goal is to improve at drawing without reference but above all to learn to draw creatures" Cool! It would be great to hear more about your art goals. Feel free to share a few works of art by artists that you admire. Not just any artwork that you like, but specifically work that is the type that you want to create. I hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!
