I draw the snail twice, I liked it but I still think that it looked very simple.
The shoes took me a lot of time because I got the proportions wrong.
I had to put the reference image on one side of the app.
I focused a lot on the boot on the left, trying to get the details and proportions right, the one on the right I made quicker focusing on the contour of the shape, trying to do bigger lines.

Good start! Your simplification looks pretty accurate :)
Just watch out that your shadows don't get too light. The area inside the shadow on the pear's lower left corner is still part of the shadows and could be toned with the second darkest value, and this will help the unity of the shadows overall.
