added comment inBodem Head - Block In Demo
My version of the bodem head. I found it hard to resist adding some facial features to the profile pancake that i started with. It gave some points of reference for the high points. Also it made it look like a fantasy sculpture of the head.

My Loomis Head. I spent a little too long on this one considering it should be a quick block in

Did quick sketch based on the selfie to familiarize myself with the angles. Then did the profile pancake. I photographed it as a series to show its development. The last two stages went beyond the quick sculpt stage and were just to see how far i could take it.

Asked for help
As you can see, my first attempt was clunky and awkward with inaccurate proportions. My second one of angelina jolie came out better. I tried to stay close to the 15 minute time limit but to do so felt rushed. However i think that is the point. Just like with gesture drawing, the idea should be many quick starts to both practice and to find the right one to develop further aithout becoming to ttached or invested in a piece that doesnt have a strong foundation. For my third pancake shown in a series of stages, i laid out my building blocks first. I decided to use th Asaro head to do a pancake from life. I also used proportions and planes that i had learned about in previous videos from Stan and from Marco. I took this third pancake further than i think was intended as i liked how it was developing. However, i think these pancakes are supposed to be quick sketches not finished pieces.

My latest portraits. I used oil pastel which is a new medium for me. It seems to have the buttery consistency of oils but less setup and clean up. One is done with Pentel brand, the other with Senellier

I am really enjoying this course on drawing the human head. Here are a few of my asaro head studies from life. I was able to get my hands on an asaro head and it has been a great reference to have as I go through the lessons.
Many thanks to Marko Bucci and Stan Prokopenko for creating this amazing online learning experience.
