This was fun! I will have to try a different paper with my brush pen because the lines were more "dry brush" than I was going for. Also, I think I could go a little less wonky on some of it, like the stairs.

I couldn't resist putting a little watercolor on this guy. So much fun!

I cheated a bit and did the photoshop overlay at the big shape stage to see if I was too far off. I ended up adjusting the mouth and beard quite a bit but mostly kept the rest of it. I was happy though because I had a feeling the mouth was too low before I did the photoshop check. Second photoshop check on putting in the features revealed that the left eye is a bit too high... Would appreciate any comments! I'd say this took me about an hour and a half :[]

Was a really hard project for me. Didn't want to start because i knew i was gonna struggle a lot because of perfectionism. And i did in fact struggle. Deleted 2 drawings in the process because how unsatisfied i was from the result. And generally took so much time with drawings because was concentrating on things that don't matter, the things i haven't learned yet. Still came up with something. Any critique will be appreciated. credits:https://www.instagram.com/p/DBT8vxcCAAX/?igsh=YXVoaGNkbnZiZXQ2 paolo_gaspare

I think you really captured the feel of the drawing and the style of the lines of the original! If I had to pick one thing to critique, I would say that I think the outline of nose in the original is a little heavier and makes it feel like a more prominent feature. Nice work :)

This is the first thing I've felt compelled to post since the course isn't active, but it just came out so dang cute. I wish I had picked a different sketchbook to do it in since the paper bleeds a little when using ink. Refernce is here: https://www.drseussart.com/illustration-art/horton-60th-anniversary-edition

Saving them up to upload all at once. This was a very fun challenge to start figuring out what gesture drawing is all about!
