My submission for the Book Cover challenge. The hated and loved Moby Dick (I love it). Trying something old school.
Hi! This is my submission for this challenge. It is a book cover for one of my favourite books "Persuasion" by Jane Austen. I was trying to capture the novel’s melancholic feeling of loneliness and regret.
The Chronicles of Narnia :Magician's Nephew by C.S.Lewis. One of my absolute favorite book series. This is the first volume in seven books, telling the tale of how magical adventures in Narnia started. I enjoyed the creation process for this challenge. Book covers are my hidden passion, so I tried my best.

Hi! I have often a problem adjusting the values of my illustrations. I tend to go with too dark or saturated tones. I feel that my eyes work differently on different days and almost like different time of the day :D Does this make any sense? Does anyone struggle with similar problem and is there a tips/solution to adjusting your values/tones?
Some common tips for mapping values:
1] squint eyes to see value relations
2] Leave highlights for the last, use it with control
3] Group values in three: highlight, midtone, dark
I hope this helps. I also struggle with values. Best way to be sure about your values is to make little studies before jumping in to final illustration.
