Some of the heads in the lesson. I did the heads wrong a few times, not sure how to make it looks like the reference. Especially the nose, I had difficulty make them in the right placement. Any critiques are welcome!

Hi everyone! I just started following the course but I'm struggling a lot with 30 sec and 2 min gestures (I think I struggle more with 30 sec actually, but I have problems with both). It seems so easy while watching the videos, but when trying them myself it all falls apart xD It may be kind of a dumb question, but I don't understand where to attach the limbs in the 30 sec ones, since I'm trying to use fewer lines xD Does anyone have some advice? :)

Connecting the limbs to the ribcage and pelvis, you need go define the ribcage and pelvis and find the flow to the limbs.

Hello, these are my practices for this section. I’d like to receive feedbacks and improve on my figure drawings. Thank you.

I think these are really nice too! Good structure and gesture! - When I submitted for critique on this assignment, I was told that my figures where to stiff. So when reattempting the exercise I made sure to really push the gesture. I was thinking as if I was doing a gesture quicksketch, then just stacked forms on top, even bending the forms to enhance the gesture. (I attached two images, before and after critique. Notice How I dared to push the s-curve of the leg in the 2nd one). There is a lot of gesture in yours, so you don't have the same problem as I did. But I think there is room too push the gesture, and that doing some drawings where you do it, could be liberating. In the bottom left drawing in the 5th image for example, you could have given the cylinders of the thighs a c-curve bend to emphasize the gesture. - Another piece of advice I received when doing these was to indicate the groundplane with perspective lines or cast shadows, to make the figure feel more grounded. - I noticed that you've indicated the cylinder of the arm in only a few images. When practicing mannequnization I would recommend to always be clear with the forms to make sure that you've analyzed their rotation in space. -In the 2nd image the crosscontours on the arms look a little strange. I don't have the reference but I attempted redoing the crosscontours in my paintover. Sometimes it's hard to see whether a form is going toward or away from you, and how much. Something that has helped me, is to imagine touching the form. To figure out a crosscontour of an upper arm, imagine wrapping your hand around it. The way your hand wraps around it informs you of the crosscontour. Hope this helps :)

They look amazing!!! Would say 3, 5 picture are quite stiff

I was really struggling with gesture at first because of those connection of flows and long line of expressions. After a while of practicing long lines in a fluid way, I think I kinda got the gist of how gesture works. One things that helps me a lot is to look at my practices and give some critiques to myself to see my weaknesses. And I’m really excited for Proko 2.0!!!

I like these and how you use asymmetry in the limbs to help push the flow of the gesture. Nice!
