Nice fluidity between the primary masses, and the subtle twist you captured in the lumbar area of the middle pose really helps sell the draw through! Great work!

Hey! Just started learning how to draw the head using the Loomis method. Any feedback is appreciated!

Hi! Good work. I agree with Marco on the lateral circle being larger, though I also wanted to mention to think of the lateral circle as slicing through the sphere. The sides of the loomis head will be flatter and have a clear plane separation from the front, so even though the main mass is a sphere, it can be simplified into front, back, and sides. But overall solid work, keep it up :)
Hi Ann! Very good job. Clean and easy to read. The side surface (the lateral circle) of the head in the middle can be a little wider in my opinion. Can I ask you were did you find the reference pics? Thanks.

Hello, here are my first proportion practices. Would be happy to receive any feedback or criticism. Thanks in advance!
They look great. I wish i could draw so good. If there's some area's to be focused for improvement, they must be the foot's.
I think the proportions are pretty spot on. The drawings look accurate too in terms of positive and negative space and plumb lines. The point of the exercise was measurement, which was surely accomplished. Only thing I can say is the drawings look a little flat because so much of the inner detail was omitted. Plus strict measurements and adhering to the rules makes for stiff drawings.

Some beans exercises I’ve done recently, will continue to practice them. Any feedback is highly appreciated! :)
I really like these lines. Very clean, and I can tell you are not drawing from the wrist.

Hi @Ann, I think these are really nice! Strong gesture, nice flow and well designed shapes in the 2 min ones.
- In your 30 sec drawings, try to raise an awareness how things flow into eachother. Usually the contour has a back 'n' forth like rhythm that leads the viewer's eye through the pose. A curve in one side is followed by a curve on the other side, creating an asymetrical contour. This principle could be used to strenghten your 2 min poses as well.
I think you would appreciate going through Mike Mattesi's force drawing series, where he talks more about this:
Improving Line Quality and Rhythm – FORCE Series Part 1
Drawing Gestural Forms – FORCE Series Part 2
How to Draw Dynamic Shapes – FORCE Series Part 3
- In your 2 min poses, don't stop the gesture line before the hands and feet. Otherwise you'll miss out on practicing how they are part of the flow. In the top right drawing for example, it looks like you leaved the feet out, maybe because you found them difficult to draw. You don't have to add all the details you see in the hands and feet, but you want to have an indication of them, since they are important elements of the pose.
Hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!
