Hello!, this is my attempt at this project. I hope that the pictures are clear enough, I had a little trouble with the lighting. This assignment was so much fun and I feel like I learned a lot through these drawings :)

Nice work. I especially enjoyed your house cats and gorillas. The gorilla on the far left has a nice flow to it and the cat with crossed arms is giving lots of personality.

This was my attempt at drawing from imagination. The last one on the bottom right was the one I invented. I feel like I could have done more exploration, but this was a really fun, really useful assignment.

Here´s my attempt at the assignment. I feel like I could have made the edges a lot cleaner. I will watch the demo and try again :)

The pear looks great! I love the cross-hatching that you did in the dark values. In the portrait, I can see that you struggled with simplifying the values in the mid tones on the face. Try to think about the shape of the face as geometric planes -- the planes facing towards the light source will have the lightest values and the planes facing away will have darker values. This doesn't take into account the cast shadows in the image but hopefully this will help as a starting point :) Keep up the good work!

Here's my attempt at the assignment! I used a grayscale study that I had done before as a base to work with.

Here's my submission for this assignment :D. I found the original reference picture on pinterest. It was a little hard to figure out which elements would need to be on their own layer, so I ended up having to separate them after I had already painted them using the lasso tool, and pasting them on a new layer. Overall Im pretty pleased with this attempt and I think I learned a lot throughout the process.

Hey, first of all thank you so much for the awesome lesson, it had so much useful information I knew nothing about. These are my first attempts at making brushes. for the first one I tried to make a little pine tree stamp by using the brush tool. The second one I made by using a few different fur textures, but it ended up looking more like foliage to me so that's what i used it for. For the third one i just used a a picture of a cottonball and added a little bit of contrast and grain. I don't know if they'll be useful in the long run, but I had a lot of fun making them.
