I really tried to stick to the assignment. But I probably rushed it. I was trying to get this done because I had limited time and wanted to do an exercise for the day. I want to try to do this every day. Anyway I have mixed feelings about the results. But it's probably what I should expect at this stage. I'm not mad at it, but I hope to practice lines a lot more.

The biggest thing I learned from this exercise was that I need to do this a lot, lot more. It felt quite stiff, and I struggled to keep my arm loose. I'm not too displeased with how it came out, but I need to do a lot more of this type of practice. Will try the boots next.

I drew a lot when I was a kid. But not much since I was in high school. I am now 47 years old and wanted to start drawing again. This is my first time doing a real, structured drawing course. Though I took all the art classes I could in school, I never learned the fundamentals. So a lot of this is new to me. The first gorilla picture example in the video is closer to what I'm used to, drawing the surface of things with no real structure. And I never got the hang of shadows. So I look forward to building those skills. Anyway, excited to have started, and I love seeing everyone's work. I hope you guys all stick with it.
you really got the shape down! I tried this one but couldn't make it look tilted as it does in the photo. good job!!!
