LESSON NOTES

A listener sends us a letter voicing their frustration with Stan’s past comments about art history. It prompts a longer discussion about the benefits you can get from learning history. Jazza didn’t sponsor this episode, but we unbox his Jazzy Art Box.

Who are some old artists (pre-1940’s) that have fallen through the cracks of history that deserved to be studied?

I genuinely love her art style so much, even thought it’s not realisim it doesn’t have to be realisim to be good art

first part of video- art history is not important, second part of video- mentioning the artists in history I've never heard in life, but nice video good knowledge. In end, I think art history is important but should be subjective of what part of history individual want to learn, `and its inevitable if a person is learning a style he is basically learning history, learning drawing is learning history itself. And you all know history more than I do, I have done art history courses, but honestly I hated them, not only because readings are eccentric complex study of time which is never going to be exact, it is proportionally assumed and on top of that outside readings of authors, philosophers, novelists suggesting their rights or wrong about many movements which really influence and manifests one's mind to change their way of thinking. what I am trying to say is sometimes it feels like they are not suggesting their views, but they are actually imposing it. That's the biggest con I've experienced while taking these courses. But again if you are not taking lessons to heart and studying it, it is always good to learn new stuff.
