I know the course came out a while ago, but is Scott still giving feedback on assignments? Debating if I should get it or not
the course is amazing, it made me show my ideas more clearly with the brainstorming approach that Scott used.
my project is about haunted monk statues that over the years got engulfed themselves in the nature surrounding them.
I hope you all like it comments and critiques are more than welcome.
hows it going, didn't get to take your class at brainstorm so i was thinking about joining the class here and i was wondering is it going on for awhile still or is it wrapping up soon?
if you do work from previous weeks lessons should you still turn them in for critique or just assignments for the most recent lesson?
thanks
Can't wait for this to start and both Monsters and shapecarving are new to me. Just a quick questions though do you think this would help with any kind of character designs not just monsters? I am playing around with some animal designs and looking at ways to add personality to the drawings. Still super keen to get into this though.
Hey there. I'm super interested in learning more about this course. Is there an outline someplace with more information on what will be covered? Right now the aforementioned page, proko/monsterlab, only shows the 1 lesson. How many lessons will be available in this course? Thanks!
I'm waiting for a paycheck to drop, but I'm definitely gonna pick up this course.
Less for the information basis but more for your personal denotation on the topics. You are very gentle and even in your tone, Scott, and most assuredly a reflection of your (perhaps) stoic-like teaching methods. You're interviews have been very pleasant thus far on the podcast.
Plus, if anyone happens upon this comment, I'd flat out stand by this being an encouragement to any serious concept art student; Scott's got his chops down. Evolve was, objectively, WAY ahead of it's electronic market. With the way Rare runs Sea of Thieves, and as the "evolving product pipeline" becomes more streamlined, this dude stands out as a pioneer in adaptive creature design from the indie-angle in game concept art.
Many of his design language theories I can see echo in the landscape of the games market. Yes, no one is personally responsible for Shape Language in any industry, but calm words permeate a LONG way in understanding and comprehension. Whose lives he has touched has surely had an affect on the industry as a whole (as do we all, though he is proposing a course worthy of your time here and so I am putting forward a token of faith, verbally, that it is worth its cost).
Body copy is easy to write. This is no fan-gasm. It is merely fact as I see it.
I do have a question though,
Does your definition of Shape-Carving include Intermediate-Shape-Welding also?
They are big enough to be two topics but even Shade and Tone are big enough for such, so I felt I should ask for posterity's sake. You may have even combined them in a flavorful, unexpected way. Who is to say, yea? ahaha <3
Thank you Scott for a new content. It´s alike a blue pill for Proko 2.0 :)
Since I´am in art for less than 1 year its kinda rejuvenation for me to do something creative, from my head. I was doing just the reference based stuff. Thanx a lot Proko !!!
Greeting from Czechia
I just purchased the course! I'm so excited! I've been playing around with shilouttes and implementing it on my ideation process and this is just what I needed right now.
I appreciated in Scott's Shapecarving video where he shared his view of communicating with the audience with silhouette - essentially using shape to "tell" as much as possible. I always like great shape and composition in others people's works, but on my own I tend to rely too much on shading so I'm excited to try some new things.
This looks like an awesome course. May I ask how many lessons the premium course will consist of/the class' running time?
I am very exited for the course. It will be challenging for me, monsters will be a new subject, but that makes it even more interesting and the method is so fascinating. Can't wait :D
Looks awesome! I've been learning from Scott for a while now and he is definitely the man you wanna learn from when it comes to this kind of stuff. He'll inject knowledge into your brain and you'll be all like Neo going "I know Kung Fu" but it will be really fun too!
Wow, really excited about this one. Learned about Scott through Proko and have been following ever since.
With a lot of hope, I put Scott Flanders in the „Which Artist do you want in Proko2.0?“ Survey and now I am glad I did!
