The Torso - Practice Reel

I came back to this one since in the legs section Brent mentions that our figure should include an accurate torso and I didn't exactly perform very well during the first pass. Decided to include the legs as an extra before doing the legs practice in earnest. I studied Marco Sordi's torsos. While I'm not at his level I feel like I've learnt a bunch. No.4 gave me some serious trouble and I just did it without timer. Feedback is appreciated. On a side note, I don't want to be blaming my tools but for some reason my strokes become very "grainy" while drawing what can I do to prevent this? I don't feel like I'm pushing too hard and it seems to also happen when drawing light. I'm using standard printer paper and a Caran D'ache Technalo 3B.

Here's my submission. I struggle with circular shapes in general, any tips are welcome. I found the neck ellipse to be a very helpful and ingenious landmark, sadly I didn't manage to make that much use of it, probably because I'm not yet used to it. I also put in an extra help line to show me where the circular shape is meant to intersect with the torso ellipse.

Great start! Pay close attention to the relationship between the size of the rib cage and the pelvis The rib cage is often a bit too big and circular in your drawings.
