LESSON NOTES
What's in Premium?
In this lesson, I look through student submissions and give feedback on how to create strong value compositions by focusing on shapes and values over details. We'll discuss the importance of simplifying your work by concentrating on big value groups and using thumbnails to experiment with different ideas quickly. You'll discover techniques for maintaining clarity by managing texture and keeping your shading clean. We'll also explore how to balance proportions with creativity, embrace narratives in your compositions, and see examples of effective value compositions to inspire your own work.

In this critique, I review your Value Composition Thumbnails project submissions and give advice on how they can be improved. i did some of these and listen to some of the crqitues and applied to my own. I feel like i made alot more improvement. it rlly helped out listen to the feedback you gave others. i used some markers this time around.
Lots to think about. Definitely need to be a bit more adventurous with my exploration.
@Stan Prokopenko Thx for the critique. All of them are in 3 values; They blended in together, my bad. I will do the thumbnails and experiment more and also try to be cleaner in simplifying value.
Seeing that much of a variety is truly inspiring. Apart from that, I am more amazed by the reference selection coz those invoked so much emotion for me when I first looked at them. Will you have a bonus lesson on what your focus is in selecting references for any creative projects?
Really appreciate the feedback Stan, and you are so correct! Glad that you critique, because I don't think I would have seen it myself.
Will you now upload videos only once a month😕
As far as I remember, it's the first delay with new lessons during the two years of the course, so I wouldn’t' be so pessimistic. This time just “life happened” to Stan, I suppose :-)
