almost didn't make it on time >.< this is my class's first archaeology excavation in July back then (before covid), it was the dry season and the sunlight stings so much. I attach the referee's picture.
In case it is allowed to submit more than one entry to the creative group portraits challenge, and if the deadline has not yet passed, here is my 2nd entry. This time painted with watercolor and improved digitally. Thanks for the challenge!
Hi everyone, here is my entry to the creative group portraits - it is still rough, but this is as far as I can go within the deadline. I call it Family Xmas, it was inspired by a family I saw in the park : )
An early breakfast of trout, corn cakes, and herbal tea (served with heated pebbles in a turtle shell) along the banks of the Schuylkill River, east-central Pennsylvania, December 1758.
Digital and traditional watercolor and colored pencil.
Crazy Holidays.
I really need to learn how to apply color in my drawings, that would probably make it feel a lot less empty than the way it is now, hahaha.
I was born in Milan but I grew up in Bellagio, Lake Como, so watching families of tourists enjoying their holidays naturally became one of my favorite activities during summer days 😄
This year I dared to jump with a parachute. I owe it to my wife. I decided to show you how happy I was at that moment. It's me and the instructor. Digital version.
To express my experience of grief and its complexity I created this two-faced self portrait. Not a traditional group, but I wanted to represent the faces of grief - one we share with the world and one, the more raw one, we hide from most people.
acrylic on canvas
Hi everyone, here is my first Proko post! I was super happy with the extension so I didn't have to rush to get it in. Just some graphite on some paper.
My submission, "Band Practice".
Hello, I am a 14 year old artist and this is my submission.
I didn't have enough time for the painting, because of my holiday, but I still managed to quickly finish it.
My main focus was on the figures and this is why the backround isn't that detailed. There are some thing about the painting that i dont like, like the tent (I couldn't find a fitting reference).
But I learned a lot in the progress of this picture, like drawing fur, trees, bushes and other stuff.
I still hope you like the idea of the painting! :)
This is an illustration of my daughters playing Frozen with their uncles last Christmas. The catch was that their uncles decided the roles ^^
Hi community,
my very first submission: from the series « severance », what if the MDR team got a five minute mini golf celebration…?
I have run out of time on refining this one. It is my first real Procreate project and the character design process took much longer than I had expected. Collecting the reference photos also was more difficult than I'd thought it would be ( I put everything in a Pinterest folder: https://www.pinterest.com/creativemack1/drawing-inspiration/severance-proko-challenge/)
I certainly had fun creating this and learned a lot by making lots of mistakes ;-)
Still, after spending this much time on the picture, I found the courage to post it. Hope it can bring some smiles to those who know the series.
My submission is from old pictures of my wife’s family, she’s the little one in the middle. Her mother always loved painting and art in general, so I put her in this floating portrait, while her father has always been passionate with photography, and took many black and white pictures of his family, so I represented him like that.
This was done in Procreate over this weekend, never did anything such intensive before :)
Here is my group portrait. I really enjoyed getting into the likeness of the subjects - a mash up between two photos. Thanks for critiquing and looking at all these submissions, Jeff!
"Family Dynamics" - graphite on paper.
"The Faces of Jake"
approx. 16*20, graphite on stretched paper
I used this group portrait as an opportunity to not represent different people, but rather different emotions. I enjoyed playing with the subtly of different features and how small changes in the eyebrows or eyes can change the whole expression of the face.
“Off The Glass!” Here is a shot of myself, about to take my youngest off the COVID plexiglass at the grocery store. Partner and my oldest are busy building their collection. Initially I was wearing a cap and had a less worried expression but it made it look like I was stealing my kid (Yikes) .First time I’ve drawn my family. Happy how it turned out.
